Each of these four artists create exceptional abstract landscapes. Here they use natural elements to depict their personal exploration of inner and outer landscapes. A sense of place is evident, yet deeply personal meanings, emotions or moods are central, as are the sheer pleasure of the physicality of paint and colour. The work welcomes the viewers engagement and, in turn, their own interpretation.
Tom Climent is a remarkable colourist whose work offers a glimpse into an alternate dimension of beauty and majesty. Using intuition and internalised memory, he uses landscape as an accessible way into a painting of abstract, dreamlike forms and the play of brilliant colour combinations.
